History of The Crown Inn
The Crown Inn public house is an old coaching inn, one of the many in Lechlade, popular with travellers when Lechalde was on a main coach route to London. The earliest record of the Inn was in 1696, when the Cole family owned it.
The Watkins family took over The Crown in 1998 and have extended the property to include charming accommodation overlooking the beer garden. On the 10th anniversary of their ownership, The Halfpenny Brewery was opened at teh rear of The Crown.
